This year we plan to ‘Spread Our Wings of Service’ as we continue to ‘Serve Children of the World’ beginning at the local level.  The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada is 62 years old this year and as we have done in the past we are prepared to step up to the needs of students through support and scholarships; reading programs in inner city Los Angeles; the Sheriff’s program to educate students about drugs; sponsor K-Kids, Builders Club and Key Club in the La Cañada area and sponsor the Terrific Kids program at two local elementary schools; and our Christmas Adopt-A-Family Toy Drive. We support the Seniors in around our area by presenting our 52^nd year of ‘Travel Adventures.’  Both nationally and internationally our local club sends funds when disasters strike.  Internationally we team with Kiwanis International and UNICEF by raising funds for the ‘Eliminate Project,’ saving the lives of infants and mothers through maternal and neonatal immunizations.
