Annual Los Angeles Foothills Soap Box Derby has been scheduled for
Saturday, May 19, 2001 here in La Cañada Flintridge, CA. This
will be the official race sanctioned by the world-famous All-American
Soap Box Derby of Akron, Ohio. The winners of this Los Angeles
County race will be provided financial support to go to Akron to
compete in the National Championships on July 28, 2001.

Since
1934, the All-American Soap Box Derby has grown into a very
popular sport. It affords families an opportunity to bond with
their kids as they build and race their own cars.
La
Cañada’s Soap Box Derby is considered by All-American as a
"licensed local" race. Any driver who wins his/her
licensed All-American local race must represent the local in the
All-American in July.
