THE OPENING

President Jim Reynolds back two weeks from the 85th National Convention in Miami Beach had a lot to say about his experiences including the talk he gave before 8000. He was accompanied by Bill Scherkey who related the matters on the agenda to be voted on and all the amendments. At today’s meeting, Ed Moulton led led ‘This Is My Country’ and Al Restivo gave the invocation. Martha Crockett entertained on the ivories.

GUESTS THIS WEEK

Guests today were Harriet Hammons, Martha Crockett, Lou Roberts’ wife, Pam who just received her BA after a long haul and it was also their anniversary. Lou joined the Century Club in honor of the occasions. There were four members of the West Glendale Gateway Club on an interclub and Barbara Dawson who brought today’s speaker.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

There is a board meeting Tuesday the 24th of July at Verdugo Hills Hospital at 7:00 p.m.

We are encouraged to attend a convention in San Diego on August 17-21 where Rosie Greer will be a guest of honor....Tom Slaughter gave some HB and SB cause he enjoyed his trip to Hawaii and because he had to come back...Daryal Gant announced he is a grandfather for the 6th time. Hal ...Hal Crockett is celebrating his 84th birthday. Mark Manarelli was inducted today sponsored by Al Restivo. He also was Sergeant-At- Arms today being the newest member.

Don’t forget the BBQ at Ed Moulton’s if you’re going to the ‘Pajama Game’ on Friday. The BBQ is at 6:00 and the play at 8:00.

THE PROGRAM

New member Ann Doneen introduced Leilani Chu of the Los Angeles Zoo. Do you notice that rhymes? She brought some lovely slides of the local denizens at home and at play. She was brought by Barbara Dawson who is very active at the zoo.
