*  We have a great opportunity to raise money for our own Kiwanis Club by giving away our old cars.  A fellow Kiwanian in Huntington Beach is involved in auto auctions.  He will handle the car auction, take a small payment for his services, and the rest of the auction price will go directly to our club.

*  Jim Edwards will be organizing a Super Bowl activity.

*   Look for more information on Kiwanis Family Day at the Races.

*   Copies of our Kiwanis Division 3 monthly newsletter are available on the Info Table.

BRING A GUEST DEC. 29TH  TO HEAR ABOUT THE RIVER PROJECT

Our speaker, Melanie Winters, was named a Champion of the West by Sunset Magazine for her work with The River Project which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to planning for natural resource protection, conservation and enhancement in Los Angeles County.  See the attached article for more information on Melanie Winters.  This should be an excellent program!!!

HAPPY & SAD BUCKS

Ed Moulton … Happy to be safe after being stuck in the Verdugo Hills Hospital freight elevator with almost 20 other AM Kiwanians for waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to many minutes earlier in the day.

Jack Dawson … Happy with the new microphone.

Mary Gant …     Sad she didn’t get a bigger reaction from her hubby.

Al Perry Jr. …  Happy Ed got out of the elevator, and advised Ed that if he was caught again Ed should call his dad, Al Perry Sr., who once used a crowbar to get people out of a stuck VHH elevator.

Paul Westmoreland … Sad due to the death of a good friend.
