Ken Lowe came to the microphone to give us a run-down on the recent Key Club annual convention in Sacramento .  3,000 kids attended.  "Service and Beyond" was their theme. Our LCHS club got recognitions to the secretary for getting projects in on time and Honorable Mention out of 560 clubs.  The Club treasurer, Andy Kim, got 3rd place.  Two scholarships from Rotary Foundation went to Hoang Lee and Maritza Takahashi.  Kerri Arboleta is now Lt. Governor and was shouted in by the club.  Everyone had a great time.  On the bus were four clubs together.  Imagine how quiet it was!  We should be very proud of the club!  143 members are in the club.  Ken Lowe thanked us all for being a part of that and we gave him a big round of applause for his work with the Key Club.

Clyde Hemphill was asked how many times we forgot who the secret greeter was.  More than we can remember, was Clyde 's reply.  Frank Ragazzi was the secret greeter.

Anniversaries/Birthdays:  George Lutes had something special to tell us:  His birthday was April 3.  He had a big party at the Hilton with 20 friends and gave accordingly.   Allan Perry Sr. was interviewed at the meal line and joined the Century Club for his anniversary and his birthday coming up in June.

Happy/Sad Bucks:  Ted Ashby was happy to join us for lunch.  And Bob Cota gave for our beautiful club.  Ed Moulton gave in appreciation for the great Dining for Youth dinner we had last Thursday night.  Bob Martin contributed for Jack Dawson who is in Louisiana on a trip.

Frosty's Challenge:  Frosty Boyd told one about a colonel and a soldier and some change.  Bill Watts went up to bat with one with a carpooling mom and her kids, a fire truck and a Dalmatian dog.  Allan Perry Sr. matched that one with one about a little boy and his grandmother and their underwear.  Bill Watts won the package of nuts!

Fines:  Some of us got it for not wearing our pins.

Hal Thomas announced with Don Corbett that a letter was received from the Guatemala Tomorrow fund thanking us for our contribution supporting a child for a year--including food, housing, books, transport.  Don and his wife Marilyn have been to the camp in the eastern part of Guatemala .  Don told us about his trip from Guatemala City to the camp by bus and boat through beautiful country.  It is a great project and it helps the kids down in Guatemala .  And thanks to all of us for contributing!

Jim Ackland reminded us about the important event--the Dining for Youth--we had last Thursday.  Jim Ackland thanked Bob Wallace for all of his work on that great event.  Bob thanked everyone who showed up.  We did better this year than last year.  The AM club attendance helped.  The AM club were the big spenders at the silent auction.  The money will go to support the Key Club and scholarships.  Bob Wallace pointed out Diane DellaValle and Mary Gant, Patsy Christianson--who did the flowers--and Sookie Matthews for all of their fine work.
