Frosty Boyd, Guest Editor

PREOPERATIVE PREPARATION: After the usual outstanding piano attitude adjusting, things began to heat up. Upon hearing the “Gong”, the usual initiation “en mass walk out”, ultimately joined by the New President, finally resulted in some order. Ed Moulton led us in “God Bless America”, the Flag Salute, a la Bob Martin, followed by a most appropriate invocation via Ken Lowe. The rest of the head table included our President, Bob Wallace, Nancy Valentine Avila and Ron Bitzer

GUESTS Joe Thompson, newly installed Lt. Governor, Bea Circar, Ken Johnson, Glen Chafin, Diane Seely, Shirley De Grey.

NEW MEMBER INDUCTION was ably performed by Membership Chairmen Paul Westmorland and Ed Moulton.. BEA CIRCAR, SPONSORED by Pat Anderson, now merely member, who has enjoyed Bea as a neighbor for 30 years. Bea incidentally was Secretary of Labor under FDR in 3/4/33. Bea took home the beautiful plant supplied by a grateful Pat.

PROGRAM Nancy Valentine Avila, brought Ron Bitzer, Director of Planned Giving at KTTV. Aging and planned care giving is an ever increasing challenge in our society.
A very touching and emotion laden story , led into an excellent video of needs and what is being done, mostly by volunteers, via anecdotes. Assisted Living is a new frontier in this area, and is being addressed. A touching and pertinent program.

THE DOOR TO THE HUMAN HEART CAN BE OPENED ONLY FROM THE INSIDE.
