THE PROGRAM
Jim
Stratton
program
chair
introduced Ms. Rhonda Chavez from the “Tournament of Roses”
organization. She spoke about the history, structure and
organization of the rose parade.
The theme of the 2010 Rose Parade is “A Cut above the Rest”. The
Grand Marshall is Captain “Sully” Sullenberger the US Airlines
pilot who safely landed his crippled aircraft on the Hudson
River with everyone on board surviving the ordeal.
This is the 121st. Rose Parade, It is also the 96th.
Annual Rose Bowl football game. There will be 39 floats and 50
plus marching bands. This will also be the first year to have a
blind marching band in attendance.
OTHER STUFF
Winner of the 50/50 Drawing: Jack Bilheimer (Glendale
Kiwanis) donated winnings back to Kiwanis Club of La Canada.
