OPENING

Nick Berkuta led the flag salute.

Cory Stevens quoted Zig Ziglar, “People often say that motivation doesn’t last.  Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”  She then read the poem “Wonder of Wonders” by Linda Gleason.

Clyde Hemphill joined Carl Christensen in presenting Dr. Allan Perry, Sr. with the Kiwanis International Legion of Honor Award, recognizing his 30 years of membership in Kiwanis.  Allan noted that he has actually been a member of Kiwanis since 1974, which makes 35 years.   Clyde performs the required research to develop the justification and submits it to Kiwanis International to secure the award.

Linda, along with Carl and Bill, then proceeded with the induction of Irene Christensen and Margaret Watts into the club membership.  They were presented with their membership certificates, temporary badges, new member requirements stars, signature sheets (to acquire 60% of current members signatures), orientation packets, membership directories, Kiwanis pins, Kiwanis motto magnets, Kiwanis decals, Kiwanis Post-Its, and Kiwanis straw hats.  In recognition of their passion for gardening and cooking, Irene also received winter vegetable seed packs and Margaret received an herb dicer.

Led by Ed Moulton, attendees sang “You’re In Kiwanis Now” and extended a warm welcome to Irene and Margaret.
