THE PROGRAM

Yvonne Johnson from the Ettie Lee Youth & Family Services spoke to us. It was established in 1950 and was the first home for kids in the USA. Now they have 9 homes for boys and a foster care agency. They help kids from 0 – 18. They are licensed for adoptions. Most foster parents end up adopting the kids. They are looking for mentors and donations. They provide education for the mentors. If you want to become a foster parent you must take classes, be finger printed & take CPR. The group homes are in Fontana, Azusa, Baldwin Park & Covina. The foster homes are all over. They don’t have a group of kids in foster care. But when they get a call to come get a kid, they need to place them right away. Each group home can house up to 12.
