and administrators. We appreciate your
service to kids and the community.
- Helen Thompson, mother of member,
Melinda Thompson, died last weekend. She was a
frequent guest, and supporter of our club. A memorial service
will be held on Saturday, September 27, at the La Crescenta
Presbyterian church, 11:00 a.m. Contributions may be sent to
Mt. Wilson Vista Girl Scout Council, Attn: Ann Neilson, 101
E. Wheeler Avenue, Arcadia 91006, (818) 790-0055.
- There are three sign-up sheets
circulating:
- Our club Dinner-Installation of
2008-2009 officers, September 24, note – Normal Club
Meeting is dark that day.
- The Division 3 Lt Gov intallation-dinner
at the LCFCC is on Monday, September 15.
- The bi-annual Men About Town in
October, sponsored by the LCF Chamber. Tickets

to our club coordinator, Paul Westmoreland
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mary Gant and Bill Scherkey
made brief announcement of the W&GFT. We still need Silent
Auctions items – see Mary; and see Bill if you
need more tickets. Let’s all turn-out for this popular
community event and major fund raiser for the club.
THE PROGRAM
Jim Stratton, district school superintendent and club
member, managed the introduction of faculty and new teachers and
administrators for our annual Apple for the Teacher program.

New teachers included: Kristen Angelica, Cindy Blanford, Jeff
Brookey, Dana Daniels, Shoghig Garabet, Kimberl Hardash, Julie
Hong, Joe Lee, Jamie Lewsadder, Lindy Lowe, Mary Malhotra,
Rebecca McLarty, Susan Moore, Joanne Park, Holly Price, Laura
Richey, Kathy Selsor, Jennifer Strople, and Rachel Zooi.
Principals attending were Elissa de Angelo Damon Dragos, Jackie
Luzak, Donna Robinson and Anais Ween.
