It was Clergy Recognition Day and the tables were full.  Prez Diane Della Valle welcomed everyone.  Then Ed Moulton led the opening song, God Bless America.  Ken Lowe had the veterans salute while the rest of us put our hands over our hearts as we all gave our Pledge of Allegiance to this great USA.  Rev. Bruce Johnson gave the invocation.

The Prez then gave the floor to Ted Ashby from the Eagle Rock Club.

Ted presented Daryal Gant with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mayor of Dinuba for his year as Kiwanis Lt. Governor.  Ted told the amusing story of how many times the certificate was reprinted before Dinuba finally spelled Daryal's name correctly.

Guests (other than clergy) were introduced next.  We welcomed three Kiwanian's visiting from the Eagle Rock Club, Jeanne Broberg (LCF School Board and wife of Charles Broberg), and Will Moffett (Community Prevention Council of LCF).

The Wine and Gourmet Food Tasting is September 14th.  Community support has been great, and several local non-profits are already selling tickets for the event.  If you need more tickets, call Bill Scherkey.  Both he and Mary Gant can deliver post card invitations you can send out or hand out to friends, family, and business contacts.  Let's get revvvved up and sell, sell, sell!

PROGRAM

Charles Broberg took over from the Prez, and introduced our clergy guests in order - going from east to west down Foothill Boulevard.  The theme was Growing Up in LCF, and each clergy person gave us an overview of their congregation's involvement with and programs for the youth of our community.

Clergy for Clergy Appreciation Week

We learned a lot and it was great to find out so many groups are working to make Growing Up in LCF a safe, healthy and spiritual experience.  Thank you, Charles, for bringing all these special people together.
