The Prez sez . . .

Harry Hull was voted man of the year. He was last year’s lieutenant governor.

We got a package from a Bulgarian orphanage with a CD and letter of explanation. The project was a big success.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Daryal Gant & Linda Magarian from the membership committee announced to keep bringing guests. We have 8 new members and have lost one to net a total of plus 7. There are 85 members now. We are trying for 90, but 100 would be great.

Daryal Gant has pictures of the parade and the mayor of Dinuba with Mary Gant and Paul Westmoreland.

Clyde Hemphill announced that the Soap Box Derby is coming.  He is proposing new cars. He will test them our with Nick Berkuta and Jack Dawson. He and Joel Smith will also do a trial run for safety. They still have old VIP cars that you can ride in for a 50 dollar ($50)donation. Mayor Steve Del Guercio will race with dave Silverspare. Mary Gant will race Barbara Marshall. He also thanks everyone who helped with the hamburger booth on Monday.

Howard Backer asked we donate to the doctors program by using the cans in the middle of the tables.

 

Megan Nordvedt from the Community Center announced the Spring Ceramic sale is June 13th—from 3:00 to 9:00 and 14th—from 10:00 to 6:00.

Pat Anderson asks that we all consider riding in a car down Michigan as it is great fun. Also the next business luncheon is June 10th at the LCF Country Club. The speaker is Chris Meyers, CEO of Citizens Busniss Bank.

Nick Berkuta announced the next Habitat build for tomorrow at 711 N. Kenwood.

Frosty Boyd gave his SLA information.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

The Flintridge Prep Key Club “MC’d” the meeting—Vicki Rallagh and Erin Loadine. They thanked us for our support and sponsorship. They went to district convention in Sacramento. They did Project Chicken Soup where they cook for home bound aides patients. They said it takes 4 hours on Saturdays and they encourage us to participate. They just had their elections. They want to re-vamp the Travel Log so more kids will go.

HAPPY & SAD BUCKS

Jack Dawson said someone hit the tail light on Daryal Gant’s car and Jack fixed it.

Daryal Gant said Paul Westmoreland and he asked the mayor of Dinuba to come serve as the grand marshall of the parade.

 

 

Pat Anderson gave happy bucks for the entire weekend. There were 3 – 4000 people at the fireworks. It was a bigger and better weekend than ever before. A special thanks to Carl Alameda who issues permits.

Elizabeth Georgeon gave happy bucks for her grandkids saying “grandma’s house rocks”.

Mark Alexander gave 5 happy bucks for all the work done by Pat and the Chamber of Commerce this past weekend.

Howard Backer gave a happy buck because his doctor asked him to participate in a drug clinical trial. After blood work, the doctor said he was to healthy to participate.

Bill Watts gave a happy buck for being in Hawaii for 19 days. He said he thought no one missed him.

John Landrum gave 20 happy bucks for 20 helpers at Fiesta days. Although he said Charles Broberg did the best job.
