The Prez sez . . .

New members: Megan Nordvedt of The Community Center. A star was given to her and to Joel Smith who brought her into the club.

We will ask members to sign up to be guest editor. A sign-up sheet is being circulated.

Thanks to all who participated in crazy shirt day last week.

Diane read a note from Mary Gant thanking the club for her luncheon last week honoring her as La Canadian of the year.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Daryal Gant announced that we had 11 interclubs last year and won the Red Robin badge.

Linda thanked Carl Christianson, Ken Lowe, Norm Johnson for bringing guests. This year we are up by eight members and down by one member for a net of seven new members. Our goal is 10 new members a year.

A sign-up sheet was circulated for flipping burgers on Memorial Day in the park.

Carl announced an interclub in Highland Park tomorrow lunch.

Pat Anderson from the Chamber of Commerce announced all the events this coming weekend, beginning Friday night. The prices on meals have been dropped due to sponsorships.

Mary Gant announced that Ty Ritter now has an organization to support his work. It is called Project Child Safe. On June 6th, they are having their second annual golf tournament. You can sign up to play golf, purchase a ticket for the chance to make a hole in one and win $1 million dollars, or sell tickets. You can also just come for dinner. The person who sells the most tickets wins a computer.

Howard Backer asked for donations to the cans on the table for the doctor program.

Frosty Boyd gave his SLA announcements.

Paul Westmoreland gave an update on Dinuba which has the 8th fastest growing population in California.

Norm Johnson was awarded a fine free Medallion for bringing a guest.

Barry Fisher, Director of the Sheriff’s Crime Lab gave a fascinating talk.

HAPPY & SAD BUCKS

Tom Burrows gave 10 happy bucks for his grandson graduating from college summa cum laude.

Ellie Wildermuth gave one happy buck for Jack Dawson coming to her aide with his plumbing skills.

Pat Anderson gave one sad buck for the Hallmark store in the Plaza closing in June and one happy buck for having tickets to purchase for the French toast breakfast and the BBQ today.

Frosty Boyd gave one happy buck for getting hooked up to sewers.

Don Voss gave 50 happy bucks

John Parady gave 2 happy bucks because his grandson became an Eagle Scout.

Clyde gave joined the century club for his Les Tupper award and thanks everyone who attended the ceremony.

Doris Horworth gave one happy buck because her granddaughter graduated from USC with a degree in kinesthesiology (the medical and therapeutic study of the movement of muscles and joints).

Elizabeth Georgeon gave one happy dollar to thank the Chamber for all the Memorial Day activities, and joined the ½ century club for her 16 year anniversary.
