Let’s hear it for Tom Burrows and his great music!  We are going to adjourn at 1:25 today so we can meet with our individual groups for a membership update. I would now like to introduce Mary Ann Rebold from the A.M. Kiwanis, who is here to tell us about a humanitarian effort to support Afghan children.

 She will be at next week’s meeting to pick up any donations we have for the program – blankets, children’s clothing, infant care items, school supplies and stuffed animals, are all suggested.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Lost & Found:  Sheree announced that she has a red jacket that has Norway on the front and a  very nice small, silver pen, that were left at last week’s meeting.  Bob Wallace thanked everyone for their kind thoughts and support for the loss of his son.

SLADick DeGrey seems to be doing OK; Hal Thomas is glad to be here today; Jeb Long’s daughter in law, Vikki is doing well; Pete Palermo should be able to start back to work soon.

PROGRAM:  Nick Berkuta introduced our speaker, Catherine Kirkland and Dorine Porter from the L.A. County Dept. of Health. They presented an interesting video program and highlighted the grading program for restaurants – A, B, C – which is now ten years old. Nick then gave the coveted speakers Kiwanis mug to Catherine and asked both of them to sign the children’s book.
