PROGRAM:

Linda Magarian discussed the new brochure which can/will be used for recruiting new members. Plus, she outlined the objective, requesting that everyone is welcomed to suggest incentives and motivational rewards. Introductory remarks from Diane were “Today’s program is all about membership.  In November, our club board noted that membership had slowly declined over the years to a level that requires the club to boost its efforts to bring our membership back to historical levels.  Accordingly, the board asked the Membership Committee, co-chaired by Linda Magarian and Daryal Gant, to devise an ambitious plan that would increase our membership by a net 10 this year, bringing us up to 90 or more.  We are now at 79.  So, today we will hear about the plan and how we will implement it.  I think you will be excited about what we have in mind.”  Daryal then gave background information on our speaker, Tony MolinoTony is a 27 year member of Kiwanis and an attorney by trade. He explained the recruiting plan and all about increasing membership.  Complementing his program was a slide presentation and flyers that explained the six “P’s” of membership growth.  Daryal then posed three questions about membership recruiting: WHO (everyone) – WHERE (everywhere) – HOW (just ask) – and introduced the eight membership recruiting chair people: Jim Ackland, Carl Christensen, Mary Gant, Joel Smith, Nick Berkuta, Bill Scherkey, Pam Feterl, Paul Westmoreland. Each had a list of who is in their group and the groups all met after the meeting was closed.

Closing Song: “Come on Kiwanis” led by Ed Moulton and Tom Burrows.
