ANNOUNCEMENTS

Linda Magarian announced that January 19th there will be a tour of the Habitat for Humanity Homes;

 Mike Leininger said the removal of lights at Glenola Park has been delayed; Pat Anderson reminded all of the Chamber of Commerce dinner; Pam Feterl said she is collecting the eyeglasses, cartridges, etc. and that the next Travel Series is Jan 12th; Mary Gant announced that September 14th is the Gourmet Wine & Food function Gigi Schlueter is in charge but does need assistants; Carl Christensen announced the Governor’s luncheon January 26th; Daryal said that there is a new membership program in place; Bachy is still requesting donations to the Children’s Hospital fund.

 

SLADick DeGrey still appreciates phone calls; Jeb Long’s daughter-in-law, Vikki is doing well.

Monique O'Dwyer

Nick Berkuta introduced Monique O’Dwyer  of the County Sanitation District.  Monique discussed the status of the solid and waste water programs and where the land fills are.  She mentioned that landfills took over for incineration programs in the 1970s to help in recycling and gave statistics on savings and uses.  Nick then presented her with the Kiwanis mug and applause was given in appreciation.
