Thanks to Tom Burrows and the wonderful Holiday music he’s been playing.  Diane acknowledged that Jim Ackland is feeling fortunate after his surgery.

Also, Al Restivo didn’t have his Kiwanis pin on in his picture with Rudy Guliani. Regarding the announcement last week about all who purchased Challenge Air shirts to wear them this week, only two people did.

Mike Leininger announced that we will feed the Rose float workers on December 28th; Carl Christensen reminded that there will be inter-club meetings on December 29th and 30th and info is on the back table; Bachy requested donations to the Children’s Hospital canisters.

 

SLADick DeGrey still appreciates phone calls; Jeb Long took Vikki on a special trip.

 

HAPPY BUCKS:

Mark Alexander for USC/Arizona game and due to his challenge for USC versus UCLA, he joined the Century Club;

The West Glendale group leader, Bill James and his group  gave five happy buck for being at this meeting;

Lloyd Welch donated a happy buck for his Alma Mater;

 

Doris Horwith donated but your editor missed the reason;

 Ken Lowe for the Key Club pizza night.

Nick Berkuta introduced our speaker, Bob Frank of Hillside School and Learning Center.  Bob spoke about the various programs at the school and the challenges and opportunities offered with a very interesting slide show.  There have been staff and board of directors changes over the past couple of years and he is extremely please with the outcome.  Classes include Day School, Night School, Summer School and the Learning Center.  For more information, you can log on to their website at www.HillsideForSuccess.org.

 

Nick then presented Bob with the famous Kiwanis mug and asked him to sign the children’s book.
