Queen Diane, the Prez
Thanks once more to Tom
Burrows for playing fabulous old show tunes for us. Six
people were selected as judges in the Halloween costume contest:
Mel Wilson, Bob Wallace, Pam Feterl, Glen Pettit,
Chuck Gulick and Pat Anderson. The votes will be tallied
and the winners announced by the counters, Tom Gilfoy and
Bill Scherkey. The winners were: Most Attractive – Paul
Westmoreland and Elaine Alexander. Funniest – Sheree
Ingram. Scariest – Howard Backer. Most
Unrecognizable - Bob Martin. Everyone looked great.
Hot spiced cider was served and there was Halloween candy on
every table.

announced the Chamber’s Quarterly Meeting will feature
Supervisor Michael Antonovich, who will speak on State of the
County. It will be Thursday, November 8th, 11:30am
at La Cañada Country Club. Pam Feterl reminded all of the
Travel Adventure Series on November 17., Diane requested
volunteers for the Challenge Air Fly Away this Saturday.

– Dick DeGrey is doing fine and still appreciates any
phones calls; Jeb’s daughter-in-law Vikki is stable.

had happy bucks for singing
“East Side, West Side”; Mark Alexander had happy/sad
bucks for USC’s loss and their wins up to now. Bob Wallace
had a great vacation and is happy to be back.

that Missouri is ranked higher than USC. Ellie
Wildermuth had happy bucks for Ohio State and showed pictures of
her attendance at the homecoming game She was invited by the
University to crown the ‘07/’08 homecoming queen. Paul

and Dinuba. Mary added a, happy for Ohio
State and Missouri.
THE PROGRAM:

Nick introduced
Jimmy Weldon who spoke on “Spending Your Buried Treasure”
which was a very informative and enthusiastic speech on
planning for your future. Suggested you make a list of what you
want to do. He had two DVDs for sale: one was the program he
presented and the other was a 1957 episode of Dragnet
called “The Big Suicide” which he co-starred in with Jack Webb
and Ben Alexander.
Music:
piano tunes by Tom Burrows and Ed Mouton leading
us in “East
Side, West Side “ at the beginning of the meeting and “Come On
Kiwanis” at the conclusion.
