THE PROGRAM

Dance in Cuba                  Frozen Music                           Iron

Gil Garcetti kept us entertained and amazed with his story of photographing the iron workers who helped build the Disney Music Hall.  His black and white photos gave us a perspective from the iron worker's viewpoint ... literally!  Gil walked the iron beams from top to bottom and stepped up to every challenge presented by the iron workers.  Fearless!!!  Gil also showed us one of his photographs from his book on Cuban dancers.  He explained that by using black and white rather than color prints, your eyes are drawn to the faces.  Gil is also working on a photography project in West Africa and is hoping to tell a photographic story that will encourage people to contribute funds to improve the quality of the water in these countries.  He promised to come back with his pictures and that story in 12-18 months.

HAPPY & SAD BUCKS

Jeb was Happy his lemon tree was trimmed and Happy to share some of his lemons.

Charles Broberg was Sad that Ed Moulton had laryngitis and couldn't be at the meeting, and sad he (Charles) forgot to tell anyone before the meeting started (although Tom Burrows filled in without a missed beat)

Frosty Boyd paid a Happy Buck so he could tell his story about the coughing up a quarter for the IRS.

Pat Anderson was Happy to note that she and Gil Garcetti were both graduates of the L.A. City school system.

Daryl Gant was Sad that Mary was leaving him to fend for himself for a few days while she went off with "the girls."
