Our President
Elect, Steve Hagerty, is standing in for Prez Paul Westmoreland
who is somewhere in the South Pacific. The Flintridge Prep Key
Club is taking over the meeting today. So...set back and enjoy.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pat Anderson announced
the Chamber mixer March 16th at the Wells Fargo Bank
from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On March 23rd at Descanso
Gardens there will be a public forum of the La Cañada Sports
Chalet property.
THE PROGRAM-
FLINTRIDGE PREP KEY CLUB TAKEOVER

The Key Club was in
charge of the entire program. Meredith Kirchheimer led the
Pledge of Allegiance. The following officers recited the Key
Club pledge and introduced themselves and their jobs: Maria
Chiu, Diana Dou, Meredith Kirchheimer, Mary McCluggage,
Mariclare, Melody Chu, Kylie Thompson, Jen Ouyang, and Michelle
Corral.

A list of fines was
passed out and amply collected. They were as follows: If your
first or last name has an X, Y, or Z...$1; If you are wearing
some kind of glasses…$1; If you cannot whistle…$1; If you have
a birthday in March…$1; If you’ve been on the train in Descanso
Gardens…$1; If you are not wearing anything white, blue, or
gray…$1; If your cell phone rings…$2; If you have a beard…$1;
If you spill water water…$1; If you forget to wear your pin…$1
.
Upcoming activities were
announced. In March and April a fundraiser for the March of
Dimes; The Key Club convention and the Soapbox Derby.
Oscar Trivia was played
with the entire group. Kiwanians showed the Key Club members
their vast knowledge of movie trivia. Test your knowledge to
some of the following questions.
- Name two movies
that Clark Gable acted?
- Who was the
original 007?
- Which movie stated,
“We’ll always have Paris”?
- Who was the
narrator in March of the Penguins?
- Who wrote thee
score for the movie E T?
- Name the first
color motion picture.
- What was Judy
Garland’s birth name?
The Name Tag Game was
played. Names of famous people, fictional or real, were put on
the backs of the members. Everyone at the tables were to ask
questions to guess their famous person or animated
character. There were no prizes.
The key Club members
divided into two groups to see who could cheer the loudest. The
meeting was then adjourn.
