Please
read the following message from Kiwanis International Public
Relations Manager Amy Wiser:
If you have had a chance to read today's
USA Today, you probably saw this story on page 2 (Click
Here to See Story)
It's a great story about how all service
organizations are evolving to adapt to a new demographic of
members, and Kiwanis is predominantly featured as an excellent
example: Our CEO Rob Parker is quoted throughout and the
reporter used one of our clubs--the DC Metro Young Professionals
Club--as an anecdotal example and for the photos.
We will be developing a "headline" for the
KI Web site this morning that includes the USA Today link and
putting it up as soon as possible. Please feel free to link to
that headline, to the above link, and/or use the story in your
District Bulletins and Web sites. This is great exposure for
Kiwanis in a national publication!
This media opportunity happened because
Kiwanis International put forth a story idea to the USA Today
reporter and arranged an interview between CEO Rob Parker and
the reporter. We received a call back very quickly from the
reporter asking for examples of non-traditional clubs, and we
worked very quickly to line up clubs the reporter could contact.
It was because of these combined efforts that Kiwanis took the
lead in a very nice story.
Thank you for all you are doing to build
leaders, serve children, and make the world a better place!
